Install by David A.

One of our clients, David A. wanted to share his installation experience

After some testing on both ecobee and Nest I would definitely recommend Nest.

After the install things are looking really nice (and cool!) I just wanted to thank you again for creating such a great product.

Anyway, our new coolers are so powerful that instead of relying on the small window between low and high temps on the tstat I've rigged a (yellow lead) switch to essentially trick the system into thinking that low is the only option even though it's programmed as a two stage system.

This helps in the early and late months of the year because we find that we'd rather just keep it running on low no matter what rather than have it kick on high.

Once July rolls around we can close that switch and it will operate as a full, two-stage system the way it was intended.

Here's a link to the excellent enclosure I ended up using:

TICONN Waterproof Electrical Junction Box IP67 ABS Plastic Enclosure with Hinged Cover with Mounting Plate, Wall Brackets, Cable Glands (Off-White, 8.7"x6.7"x4.3")

FYI, I use old neodymium magnets from scavenged drives to lock down a wire mesh screen to catch small stuff like feathers and other bits and bugs.  They work great!

Thanks again!

Dave A
